This special issue of the ESPOL RTE Technological Magazine "Global Migration Challenges and Solutions: An Interdisciplinary Review" features articles addressing key thematic challenges of international migration and migration governance today. This publication aims to encourage a renewed examination of these issues from interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary perspectives without losing the focus on rights-based regulations and democratization. This issue highlights experiences, perspectives, analysis, options, and recommendations for the "way forward" of global relevance on international migration issues.

Migration is about people and fundamentally concerns the development, human rights, and social well-being of everyone, particularly in times of global pandemics and armed conflicts such as we are experiencing today. In this publication, we pay tribute to individuals and families compelled to leave their countries of origin to survive, find safe haven and decent living and working conditions, and contribute to the cities and countries where they came to reside and work.
