Publication Ethics
The Revista Tecnológica Espol - RTE adheres to the regulations established in the Higher Education laws in force in Ecuador, as well as the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), welcomed in the link RTE Code of Ethics.
The authors who submit their texts to the evaluation process will not pay for the work of said evaluation, which will be carried out by the members of the Editorial and / or Scientific Committee of the journal; likewise, reviewers (blind peers) will never charge for their work. The Revista Tecnológica Espol - RTE stands for an academic practice far from inbreeding. For this reason, at least 70% of the texts approved for each issue will be external. In other words, 70% of the published works must come from professors and researchers outside the publishing entity and ESPOL.
Likewise, the Revista Tecnológica Espol - RTE stands for the non-predatory nature of scientific publications, mainly regarding possible payments for publishing, excessive self-citations or subscription charges to readers.
The opinions, interpretations, reflections, and information provided in each article are the sole responsibility of their authors. The Editorial Committee and the Scientific Committee of the journal are not responsible, in any case, for the credibility and authenticity of the works. When a text is submitted for evaluation by the journal, in addition to the anti-plagiarism review that the RTE editors carry out, the author remains solely responsible for ensuring that all their contents are original and have the corresponding authorizations for their publication. If needed, the journal may request the attachment of a certificate of originality when a text is submitted for revision, which must be sent to the general editorial address of the journal: nsolorza@espol.edu.ec.
By submitting the article, the author expressly states that, in the case of co-authorship, all authors are aware of and agree with the content and with the submission to the journal for evaluation. In case of multiple authorship (more than five authors), an annex must be sent justifying the insertion of several authors and their responsibilities in the text, signed by each of them. The editorial committee reserves the right to verify sources and to adapt the graphic information to meet the editorial requirements of the journal. The articles will be submitted to a peer review (double blind) arbitration process. The identity of the referees will always be protected, and under no circumstances may this identity be revealed. The editor will guarantee, in the same way, that the arbitrators do not know the identity or affiliation of the authors submitted to arbitration. Of course, the acceptance or rejection of an article will only attend to epistemological criteria related to the importance, originality, and clarity of the writing, as well as its relevance regarding the thematic line of the journal.
The author agrees that once the arbitration process has started, he/she will not withdraw the text for publication in another journal. The content of the documents sent for evaluation is the responsibility of the author/s.
The author or authors of the work must not maintain any commercial, financial, or private relationship with people or institutions that may have interests related to the proposed work. In other words, they must avoid any conflict of interest.
