The journey of a manuscript from its submission in OJS through to open-access publication. The peer review process takes an average of 6 to 8 weeks.
Submission in OJS
The author uploads the manuscript to the journal site, using the Word template and complete metadata.
Editorial check
The Associate Editor checks that the submission meets the editing rules and the journal's thematic scope before it moves forward.
Plagiarism check
The text is analyzed with Turnitin; any form of plagiarism detected results in the automatic rejection of the submission.
Double-blind review
External expert reviewers, without knowing the identity of the authors or their institutions, assess the manuscript against the journal's scientific interests.
Editorial decision
Accept, accept with minor revisions, major revisions, or reject; if reviewers disagree, a third expert settles the decision.
Copyediting
Copyediting of the accepted manuscript, in Spanish and English, carried out by the editorial team.
Layout and proofs
Typesetting of the galleys (PDF) and proof verification by the authors.
Publication
Open-access publication in the regular volume (June or December) or a special issue, with DOI assignment and dissemination to indexing systems.
