The RTE journal is guided by the definition of open access established by DOAJ, which states that:
- The copyright holder of an academic work grants rights of use to others through an open license (Creative Commons Atribución-NoComercial 4.0 International License) that allows free and immediate access to the work and allows any user to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search or link to the full texts of the articles, track them for indexing, pass them as data to the software, or use them for any other legal purpose.

In summary, this journal provides free and immediate access to its content (open access) without any APC (Article Processing Charges) under the principle of making research available and free of charge to the public, which fosters greater global knowledge exchange.
