The objective of this research is to describe sustainable entrepreneurship as an alternative to maintain a balance between social and ecological needs. This work presents the sustainable entrepreneurship model of the San Cristóbal Island in the Galapagos Province, through a documentary-based research and a qualitative-quantitative field study. The results show a description of the social development and the situation of coexistence between the ecological system and the entrepreneurial life on the island. The inhabitants of San Cristóbal are aware of the need to take care of their environment to guarantee the continuity of their entrepreneurial life and improve their social and ecological development. Prospective studies are recommended to promote sustainable entrepreneurship through socio-ecological development strategies.
